𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧

The idea for the yearbook was conceived in early 2025 by Samuel Farouk Barakat, a member of the Class of 1975 and former teacher of ARSS. Recognizing the importance of preserving the school's rich history and commemorating its Golden Jubilee, he envisioned a publication that would capture the spirit, accomplishments, and stories of the ARSS community.

In July 2025, the proposal was formally presented to Headmaster Sir Lalljeet Ruplall and members of staff, who immediately embraced the concept and gave their full support. With the school's endorsement, the project officially moved forward as a joint initiative between the ARSS Alumni Association and the school.

A dedicated team was assembled to bring the vision to life.

Over several months, countless hours were invested in gathering photographs, compiling student and staff information, documenting school activities, designing layouts, editing content, and coordinating production.

𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The ARSS 50th Anniversary Yearbook was officially launched during the school's Graduation Ceremony on 28th November 2025.

As part of the launch 218 graduating students received copies of the yearbook. 82 teachers and staff members of the Golden Jubilee year were also presented with copies. 

The Alumni Association and school leadership were committed to ensuring that every student would have access to this historic publication. On 13th February 2026, a school-wide distribution exercise was conducted, during which 987 students received their copies of the ARSS 50th Anniversary Yearbook, fulfilling the promise that every student would receive a printed keepsake of this landmark occasion.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠

The total cost of producing 1500 copies of the 50th Anniversary Yearbook was GY$2,616,300 (approximately US$12,000) This amount covered printing and production.

Importantly, the graphic design, layout and formatting, content editing, photography, project coordination and distribution were contributed free of charge by alumni, the Headmaster, and members of staff.

This project would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors- numerous alumni, friends, and well-wishers of the school. Many of our sponsoring businesses also share a special connection to ARSS through owners, directors, and employees who are former students. Their contributions helped transform an idea into a historic achievement and ensured the preservation of ARSS's Golden Jubilee legacy for future generations.

The ARSS 50th Anniversary Yearbook is more than a book—it is a permanent record of our school's journey, our people, our achievements, and the legacy we leave for future generations.
